Proverbs 24:16 - For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
Most of us are aware, if we do any type of work on computers, the ever-helpful and critically important "undo". Many times at my work, I have found myself selecting this option when I make mistakes, or if I want to go back and start closer to the beginning of a project. Some programs let you "undo" to the beginning of the project, and then there are some that only let you do it once. I've found myself selecting undo just to go back and do something that I know I could do a little better. In any case, this option is a favorite of mine!
If only life came with an "undo" option! I have found myself many times wanting to redo something I did that was foolish or embarrassing. Oftentimes, I have thought about what it would be like to go back to the start of my life and redo some things there as well. However, God did not give us this undo option - it is a man-made thing.
I'm thinking that God did not give us an undo option because we are to live with the choices we make and suffer consequences for our actions. Sin caused all this. If we lived in a world with no sin we would have no need to undo anything. Everything would work out right all the time without issue. I wish Adam and Eve could have went back and "undid" some things back in the garden!
Though God does not give us an "undo" option, he does give us a "mercy" and "grace" option. He also gives us the "get up and try again" option. He knows about the sin passed on to us through generations. Because of this, he added the "grace" option to your life menu. He also adds a "victory" and "forgiveness" option to help you overcome the sin or mistake.
We do have to live with our choices and consequences, but with all these options available, it makes life easier to deal with. God doesn't want you to live discouraged and disappointed, He wants you to get up and go on.
When you mess up and get down, don't let the devil kick you while you're down. Get up and try not to make the same mistake again and go on. Proverbs 24:16 "For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief."
